Look, I’ll tell you this right up front: we’re up against professionals...professional manipulators.
I was a communications/media major in college. I studied Marshall Mcluhan and discovered that his message made great sense to me. So I’ve used his theories on communication for the 35 years since graduation.
I watch the media. I pay attention to it and to the responses I see around me. I’ve built a writing career with many of McLuhan’s “truths” guiding me.
I cringed as the primaries wound down, and right through the general election, as I saw the same infection that made normal conservatives go crazy infected too many on the left. I saw Breitbart posts quoted here as gospel, and witnessed the erosion of solidarity, much as Rove had espoused.
I don’t want to re-litigate the primary — that’s not the purpose of this diary. The purpose is: WE’RE STILL FALLING FOR IT!
There’s another diary on here about Trump’s speech last night which includes a link to THE BLAZE. The Blaze isn’t a news site. It’s part of a well-coordinated chain designed to smear the left and promote the right. That link claimed that Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Keith Ellison didn’t stand for the tribute to Carryn Owen. When I questioned it, I was told that I wasn’t taking it seriously enough and that it was the “top match” on Google.
Of course it was! That’s how good these liars are!
I was also told that “Breitbart has it.” OMFG. Breitbart is pond scum squared.
